Dear Consular Officer,
I am writing to cordially invite my parents, Somkid Jaidee and Tida jaidee, to visit the United States for a profoundly significant moment in my academic journey—my doctoral graduation ceremony at Ohio State University. As a doctoral candidate in biochemistry, completing my Ph.D. has been the culmination of years of dedicated research and hard work, and I deeply desire to share this momentous occasion with my parents, who have supported me throughout my educational pursuit.
The graduation ceremony will take place on 11 August 2024 in Columbus, Ohio, and I am committed to ensuring my parents’ entire visit is fully supported and comfortable. I will personally manage all aspects of their travel and stay, covering all expenses, including international airfare, local transportation, accommodation, meals, medical insurance, and any incidental costs they may incur during their time in the United States. They will be staying with me at my residence in Columbus, where I have prepared comfortable accommodations to ensure their visit is both enjoyable and stress-free.
My parents have deep-rooted connections to Thailand, including our family home in Bangkok, their established careers, and extensive family and community ties. Their visit to the United States is purely to celebrate my academic achievement and will be temporary, with a clear intention to return to Thailand immediately after the graduation ceremony. I understand the importance of demonstrating strong ties to their home country, and I can confidently attest that they have absolutely no intention of seeking permanent residence in the United States.
As their son and a responsible international student, I am fully prepared to provide any additional documentation or information that might be required to support their visa application. My current status as a Ph.D. candidate at Ohio State University, combined with my commitment to ensuring my parents’ compliance with visa regulations, underscores the genuine and temporary nature of their proposed visit.
